President Obama has selected his nominee to be front man for the World Bank. On the one hand, Jim Yong Kim has no banking experience. That might be good. On the other hand he is President of Dartmouth College and he would never have gotten that job if he were in any way the kind of fellow who would rock the boat. That might be bad. On the third hand he is an anthropologist. That might be good. On the fourth hand his lack of banking experience means that he will have no idea what the World Bank is up to even if he really wanted to know. That would be bad. It is difficult to reform a thing that is totally unfamiliar.
But the Wall Street Journal is less than thrilled. That could be good.
I am sure Kims all over the world are wishing him the best.
